Open Access Committee

The Open Access Committee supports core institutional initiatives related to Open Access (OA) scholarship and resources, focusing on areas where the Libraries play a direct role in facilitating OA publishing by UF authors. The group will inform and influence policies related to OA publishing, liaise with academic publishers, evaluate and assess OA collections models (e.g. read and publish, etc.) and UF publishing trends, and conduct outreach to the UF community.

The chair(s) will rotate annually. Members will represent multiple Libraries’ units.

Outcomes anticipated

  1. Improved understanding of UF scholars’ attitudes toward OA
  2. Exploring the engagement of internal and external stakeholders with OA publishing
  3. Knowledge of available data of open access publishing by UF authors
  4. Promotion of available open access publishing options to the UF community, including the Author Rights Policy
  5. Refined strategy for investing in OA collections and initiatives
